What does this mean?
We need to provide this information to HMRC as part of our Real Time Information (RTI) obligations
which requires employers to tell HMRC about payroll information and other deductions on or before
payments are made to workers. The Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) need to know the number of
hours normally worked in a week to support Universal Credits which will replace many individual
benefits (e.g. job seekers allowance, housing benefit and child tax credits) from October 2013.
